On Federalism and industry: I suspect that the latest compromise regarding state banking regulation points to the influence of large corporations on the Congress as a culprit in the on-going eclipse of federalism. I have just posted on this, in case you are interested.

Hahaha! That’s pretty funny. I love fantasy sports, and we actually just did our NBA mock draft. That has to be one of the weirdest categories I’ve heard of! I wonder what Stephen Jackson would register if it was available on NBA fantasy?

The LA Times’ financial woes are beyond anyone’s sympathy. They brought it upon themselves. They are the same “newspaper” that, just prior to the presidential election, refused to make public a video tape they had in their possession that showed Barack Obama socializing with… er… potential bad guys at some kind of dinner. A newsworthy, damaging video was held back (if the same video had been of John McCain or Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh, they would have sold their souls to the Devil to have it air on all major TV news stations). And, despite a huge protest conducted outside their building (they didn’t cover that, either), they wouldn’t release the bloody video. But the layoffs of a lot of LA Times staff members WAS covered during that same period. Their readership is limited to liberals who can actually read. So, going belly-up is the proof in the pudding.
