An Infinite Number of Idiots
Life presents us with many opportunities each and every day. Some opportunities help us progress, others make us regress. Then there are those opportunities that we respond to in the most horrendous, awful, and gut-wrenching way. If we’re smart, we realize it and try to make amends. If not…well…then you end up here, recognized for your idiocy as an Idiot of the Week.
Idiocy is expressed in many ways. Athletes say or do things that just crush their team’s or sport’s hopes (hello, Marion Jones and Roger Clemens). Politicians fabricate stories (hello, Hillary – found that sniper yet?). Entertainers make major gaffes in front of a live studio audience during the biggest reality show episodes on television (Paula, what was in that Coke glass of yours?). And then there are the random bozos that merit fifteen minutes of fame, right here, right now.
So how can you help identify and award an Idiot of the Week?
You can nominate someone that you believe qualifies for our loving attention at SMISLT. Nominations will be taken through Thursday of each week.
Second, I will objectively (yeah, right!) review your nominations, investigate further, and learn as much as I can (or as much as I can stomach) about your candidate.
Third, I will select the winner(s) by the following Monday. Yes, there may be more than one.
Idiots may be awarded with one of the variety of Idiot of the Week awards:
Warning! This is not for the faint of heart or for those that are too married to a concept, sport, sports team or athlete, musician, political party, religion, (sheesh, I could go on forever). Let’s just say that nothing is safe. Based on my mood, my explanation for picking winners may be absolutely silly, totally sardonic, or flat-out blunt.
It’s fresh…it’s def…it’s a world full of idiots. And we live among them.
Happy nominating!
